Faye M. Barnes

Faye M. Barnes, age 81, of Pomona, Kansas, died Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Richmond Care Center in Richmond, Kansas. She was born on Friday, June 21, 1929, in Eagleville, Missouri, the daughter of Edwin Hard Lane and Edith Elvira (Barrett) Lane. She was a resident of Pomona since 1970. She had previously lived in Ottawa, Chapman, Riley, Salina, Wichita, Burlington, LaCygne and grew up in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Faye graduated from high school with the class of 1947. She was a lifelong homemaker and housewife. On September 20, 1948, Faye was united in marriage with Lester Leonard Barnes at Mt. Ayr, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1985. Survivors include: Son-Terry Barnes of Ottawa, Kansas; Son -Tracy Barnes of Austin, Texas; Grandson-Jeffery Lane Barnes- Garnett, Kansas; Grandson- David Matthew Barnes-Iola, Kansas; Great-Granddaughter- Ashley Barnes; Great-Grandson- Matthew Barnes; Great-Grandson- Gabrielle Barnes; Great-Granddaughter-Obree Barnes and Great-Granddaughter-Baylee Barnes. She is preceded in death by her: husband,Lester Barnes;father,Edwin Hard Lane; mother, Edith Elvira (Barrett) Lane and eleven brothers & sisters. IN STATE: Mrs. Barnes will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5 p.m. Wednesday where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8 Thursday evening. SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010. CEMETERY: Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
