Farris I. Hink, , 97, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Family will meet with friends at 9:00 a.m. prior to service. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas. Farris was born Sunday, January 14, 1917, in Granada Township, Nemaha County, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Minnie (Longberg) Hewitt. She was raised in Norton, Kansas, graduating from Norton High School with the class of 1935. Farris was united in marriage with William I. Hink March 28, 1936, in Norton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2008. She lived in Lane for several years moving to Williamsburg, from 1949 to 1992; Garnett, from 1992 to 2006; Ottawa, from 2006 to 2008; and Richmond, from June 2008 until her death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Zona Brooks and Vilora Patton. Farris was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. Farris worked as a bookkeeper for Lebo Grain, a lumber yard and elevator, from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s; Richmond and Williamsburg COOP from the middle to late 1960’s. She also worked as the assistant postmaster in Williamsburg, in the early 1970’s until her retirement in the early 1990’s. She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, Extension Homemakers Unit, Homemakers Demonstration Unit, and was a 4-H Leader. Farris enjoyed cooking, needlework and loved traveling stateside and abroad. The family suggests memorial contributions to Williamsburg United Methodist Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
