Everett “Ed” Victor Lewis Jr., 60, Paola, Kansas passed away April 17, 2017 after a battle with liver cancer. Ed was born in Kansas City, Missouri August 18, 1956 to Everett Lewis Sr. and Mary Lou (Coffey) Hancock. He completed the 10th grade, later in life returning to receive his GED. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Lois Young, and brother Michael Lewis. He is survived by his wife Gail Waisner-Lewis of the home; daughters Heidi Chambers (Skyller), Kathryn Savage; son Dustin Lewis (Trisha); 8 grandkids; sister Loretta Slyter and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He spent much of his life as a painter and handyman. An avid lover of all things NASCAR, cooking, BBQing with the “Good ole’ Guys and Gals” and spending time with family and friends. Ed was always extending his time and helping hand to the local Miami County homeless shelter. He has been a member of the Eagles Club, VFW and the ELKS for much of his adult life. The celebration of life will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Paola Eagles. There will be a burial at a later date. Ed will be missed by many! Memorials may be made to Ed Lewis Benefit in care of First Option Bank to help the family with burial and medical expenses.
