Evelyn Rigney

Evelyn Rigney age 92, of Louisburg, KS passed away at her home in Louisburg, Kansas on Thursday, July 23, 2015. She was born at Miami County, KS on March 22, 1923, the daughter of Walter and Nelda (Knop) Nevius. She was united in marriage to Harry F. Rigney on May 12, 1943 at Bakersfield, CA. Evelyn was a homemaker and an excellent farm wife, helping with meals and whatever was needed. She graduated from Paola High School, Paola, KS with the class of 1941 and attended Kansas City Business College. She was a member of the Louisburg Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She loved to sew and was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed traveling, working puzzles and spending time with her family. Evelyn had a very special relationship with her caregivers for the past year, Sarah and Lindsey She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 64 years, Harry F. Rigney, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Morales (Jim), Raymore, MO; and Kay O"Keefe (Pat), Paola, KS; one son, Kenneth Rigney (Ginny) Louisburg, KS; grandchildren, Kirk Morales, Kent Morales, Lesley Rigney Yoho, Shannon Rigney Miller, Erin Rigney Ptacek, Nathan Rigney, Cale Rigney, Lori O"Keefe Locke, Ryan O"Keefe and Tim O"Keefe; fifteen great grandchildren and one brother, Dale Nevius, Lawrence, KS.
