Evelyn Nadine Bryan, 87, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Rock Creek of Ottawa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., prior to the service. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Evelyn was born May 21, 1933, at Elmer, Missouri, the daughter of William Paris and Eva Belle (Williams) Wheeler. She lived in Lawrence, Kansas, moving in 1961 to Ottawa. She graduated from Lawrence High School with the class of 1952. Evelyn was united in marriage to Lawrence Bryan May 31, 1952, at Centropolis, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2016, after 64 years of marriage. Evelyn was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She loved her family and grandchildren and always looked forward to the time they spent together. Evelyn had the gift of gab and always enjoyed visiting with everyone. She was a member of the Town & Country Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by her parents and great grandson Aaron Scott; three brothers, John Wheeler, Clifford Wheeler, and Robert Wheeler; and two sisters, Louise Rogers and Frances Seifred. Survivors include her six children, Lawrence Bryan, Jr., John Bryan, Tim Bryan (Tammi) all of Ottawa, Janet Barnett (Logan) of Perry, Wanda Richards (Dennis) and Debbie Green (Milton) all of Ottawa; sister Juanita Jacobs of Sun City, Florida; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.
