Evelyn J. Scott, 95, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2015, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Scott from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Evelyn was born Saturday, June 26, 1920, in Perryville, Arkansas, the daughter of Phillip H. and Maude M. (Ussery) Windle. Evelyn grew up and lived in Arkansas twenty-five years, moving to Missouri and later Pomona. In 2006, Evelyn moved to Ottawa where she made her home until her death. She graduated from Perryville High School, Perryville, Arkansas, with the class of 1939. Evelyn was united in marriage with Albert Earl Scott December 12, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He preceded her in death February 16, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William R. Scott; brother, Charles R. Windle; and sister, Kathleen Knowles. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Rogers of Milford, Pennsylvania; four grandsons, Michael Rogers of Independence, Missouri, Christopher Rogers of Kansas City, Kansas, Joshua Trumbull of Milford, Pennsylvania, and Richard Scott of Angleton, Texas; two granddaughters, Kelly Rogers of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Courtney Trumbull of Milford, Pennsylvania; six great-grandsons, Jeffrey Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Alex Rogers, Jesse Kincaid, Jean-Luc Trumbull, and Aidan Wottle; two great-granddaughters, Jessica Rogers and Zielle Trumbull; and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Ottawa. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
