Evea Eleanor Blanton York Brewer Bailey, age 97, of Louisburg, KS, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Villa Saint Francis, Olathe, KS. Eleanor was born October 8, 1914 in Kansas City, MO., the daughter of W.H. Blanton and Martha Ona Williams Blanton. She was united in marriage to James Herschel York on December 23, 1929 in Atchison,KS. This marriage ended in divorce, Herschel passed away in 1960. She married Russell Brewer in 1967, he died of cancer in 1972, she then married Horal "Bill" Bailey in 1973 he died of a heart attack in 1988. Eleanor was a cook and waitress for the 69 Grill, Country Club and Blair House in the Louisburg Community. She enjoyed music, fishing, dancing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her homemade cinnamon rolls, chicken and noodles and her ability to play the banjo and dance the jig. In 2004 Eleanor was diagnosed with Alzheimer"s disease and was moved to Villa St. Francis, Olathe, KS., until her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband"s, sons, James York Jr., William Francis York, Charles Dean York and daughter, Jessie Rose Slawson. Survivors include her sister, Maxine Hensley, of Sun City, AZ; brother, William H. "Bud" Blanton Jr., of Bethany, MO; Son, Richard Lee York, of Windsor, MO; daughter, Hazel Louise Soap, of Louisburg, KS. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer"s Association.
