Evan Seymour Lloyd was born August 3, 1906, at Princeton, in Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of Albert Martin and Cora Mabel (Moyer) Lloyd. Evan was a near lifelong Princeton resident, moving to Pittsburg, Kansas on July 1, 2001, where he made his home, until his death Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the age of ninety-seven years. Evan graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1926. He was a lifelong stock and crop farmer. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Ottawa, served on the Princeton School Board for several years, and Princeton Recreation Association Board, where he also coached baseball for many years. Evan was a caring man who enjoyed being active in his community. He especially enjoyed helping kids. He was also a person who liked to stay busy, tinkering in his shop and caring for his vegetable garden. After retiring from farming in 1972, he repaired hydraulic jacks, and small engines, etc. He also enjoyed watching baseball on T.V. Most important to Evan was his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. On March 19, 1943, Evan was united in marriage with Dorothy May Dodd at Ottawa, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 8, 1992. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray Lloyd; and sister, Eleanor Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd is survived by two daughters, Linda Tesar of Ottawa, Connie Womble and her husband, Ron, of Pittsburg; son, John E. Lloyd and his wife, Lewanna, of Spring Hill; three grandsons, Kenneth Womble, Mark Tesar, Evan W. Lloyd; two granddaughters, Kerstin Womble, Rhiannon Lloyd; two great-grandsons, Christopher Tesar, Tyler Tesar; and great-granddaughter, Megan Tesar. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Princeton Cemetery 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Scott Dickinson. IN STATE: Mr. Lloyd will lie in state at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Franklin County Cancer Foundation and American Heart Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
