Eva L. Stone, 77, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 10, 2017, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. Family will meet with friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Eva was born Friday, December 22, 1939, in Garnett, the daughter of Louis and Frances (Tinsley) Ecord. She was a near lifelong Franklin County resident, residing in Garnett the last 12 years. She graduated from Ottawa High School and attended Ottawa University. Eva was united in marriage to Carl W. E. Stone January 6, 1978, in Leavenworth, Kansas. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her five children, Scott Willhite and wife Andrea of Parsons, Cindy Paramino and husband Rick of Wellsville, Brian Willhite and wife Krystal of Scammon, Jon Stone and wife Debbie of Ottawa, and Betty Raby and husband Jim of Richmond; six siblings, Joann Geer of Ottawa, Lois Ecord of Topeka, Richard Ecord and wife Linda of Pomona, Ron Ecord and wife Vicki of Buena Vista, Colorado, Ruth Trendel of Pomona, and Patti Fine and husband Dean also of Pomona; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Frances Ecord; two sisters, Jesse Lickteig and Jeannie Rossman; and grandson, Evan Paramino. Eva was employed with Hallmark Cards for eight years. She worked at the Franklin County Courthouse in the treasurer/appraiser’s office for fourteen years. She owned and operated Eva’s clothing store in Ottawa. She was a member of Pomona Methodist Church. Eva loved to decorate and do remodeling projects. She enjoyed crafts, going to craft shows, making floral arrangements and wreaths.
