Eunice Marie Brockus

Eunice Marie Brockus was born on Thursday, July 9, 1925, in Rantoul, Kansas. She was the daughter of James and Hildred (McKinley) Finch. A lifelong resident, Eunice made her home in Rantoul, Franklin County, Kansas, until her death on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at the age of eighty years. Eunice was a homemaker. An excellent cook, she enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for her family. She also enjoyed caring for her flower gardens, embroidering, and sewing. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eunice was an outgoing, fun person. Her many friends always looked forward to her visits. On April 27, 1942, Eunice was united in marriage with Clifford W. Brockus at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1993. She is also preceded in death by parents; son, Ronald W. Brockus; daughter, Delores Jean Evans; and sister, Velma Schulz. Mrs. Brockus is survived by her daughter, Nancy Collins and her husband, Kenny, of Lane, Kansas; son, Richard D. Brockus and his wife, Pam, of Princeton, Kansas; sister, Rosie Henry of Ottawa, Kansas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2006. IN STATE: Mrs. Brockus will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 PM Monday to the service hour. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas.
