Eulalia June Mills, age 80, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Ottawa Retirement Village, Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on Sunday, November 15, 1931, in Wathena, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence Calvin and Opal Marie (Moss) Engeman. June grew up in the Wathena area until her marriage, moving several times before living in Wellsville for many years, moving to Ottawa in January, 1995. June attended Mount Arid and Blair rural schools in the Wathena area. When sixteen years old June worked as a nurse’s aide, also as a waitress and did cleaning in Wellsville including the Wellsville Post Office. For nineteen years she ran the Wellsville Laundromat and for several years was a caregiver. June was a member of the Wellsville Baptist Church, Wellsville, Kansas. On August 15, 1950 June was united in marriage with James W. Mills, Sr. at Wathena, Kansas. They later divorced in 1971. She is survived by her: Daughter – Phyllis J.Meyer and husband Don of Salina, Kansas; Son – James W. Mills, Jr. and wife Andrea of Ottawa, Kansas; Grandchildren – Lindsay D. Meyer, Janet L. Mills and David M. Mills; Great-grandchildren – Samantha N. Howell and Andrew J. Zitnik and Sister – Beulah Smith of Ottawa, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her: Parents – Clarence and Opal Engeman; Sister – Shirley Ann Fuqua and Sister – Peggy Gnegy. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012. VISITATION: Family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012.
