Eula Mae Scott

Eula Mae Scott, 89, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Family will meet with friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the mortuary. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas. Eula was born Tuesday, January 31, 1928 in Lane, Kansas, the daughter of Carl Edward and Elizabeth (Strider) Bennett. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident. She attended schools in Ransomville and Ottawa, Kansas. Eula was united in marriage to John A. Scott April 18, 1947, in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth Bennett; brother, Harold Bennett; sisters, Virginia Parry, Wilma Hay, Mildred Barber, Mary Burgess and Freda “Peggy” Williamson; and grandson, John Austin Scott. Survivors include her two sons, John David Scott of Wellsville, and Galen Scott and wife Vada of Ocala, Florida; three daughters, Linda K. Anderson and husband Dwight of Apopka, Florida, Elizabeth Carol Scott of Winchester, and Christine Martinez and husband George of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Willard Bennett of Hutchinson; twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker and worked on the farm with her husband. She also worked as a dietary aid at Pence's Deli, Ottawa University and Ransom Memorial Hospital. Eula was a member of First Assembly of God in Ottawa and a former member of the Pomona Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday school ten years and served one year as president of WMC, one year as secretary and was treasurer of the church.
