Eugene Henry Marks, age 87, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, September 30, 2002, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of the late William Marks, Sr. and the late Mabel (Glasser) Marks. Mr. Marks spent his working years in Alaska, returning to Franklin County, Kansas, in 1972. He was a heavy equipment operator thirty years and member of Alaska Teamster Union #959. From 1942 to 1944, he worked on the Alaska-Canada Highway. He also worked for the Sunflower Ammunition Plant, DeSoto, Kansas, and on the Alaskan Pipeline, retiring in 1972. After retirement, he moved to Kansas and farmed. Tim served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901, Ottawa, and Ottawa Lodge #803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Tim was united in marriage with Zelda Louise Veix at Lyndon, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2001. He is survived by his: daughter, Julie Belser of Pomona, Kansas.
