Eugene F. “Gene” Cunningham, age 75, of Williamsburg, Kansas, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home. He was born on Thursday, February 13, 1936, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Ora and Ida (Williams) Cunningham. He was raised in Lane and Greeley, Kansas. In early adulthood, he lived in Ottawa, Kansas; Louisville, Kentucky; Minot, North Dakota; and Topeka, Kansas; prior to moving to Denver, Colorado for eight years. In 1969, he moved to Williamsburg, Kansas. Gene graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1954. He worked as a drywall finisher for forty years, and farmed in crop and livestock since 1969. On Friday, June 29, 1956, Gene was united in marriage with Betty June Randel in Mt. Olivet. She preceded him in death on Tuesday, May 10, 2005. He is survived by his: Son-Alan Cunningham and his wife, Phyllis, of Ottawa, Kansas; Son-Brad Cunningham and his wife, Cathy, of Katy, Texas; Brother-Ray Cunningham of Olathe, Kansas; Brother-Charles Cunningham and his wife, Katie, of Lane, Kansas; Sister-Laura Becker of Wichita, Kansas; Sister – Viola Ralston of Parker, Kansas; Sister-Mary Damman of Clifton, Kansas; Sister-Doris Barrett and her husband, Harley, of Shreveport, Louisiana; Grandchildren-(5) Pamela Capulong and her husband, Ed; Joshua Cunningham and is wife, Jessi; Tara Huggard and her husband, Chris; Chad Cunningham; Cord Cunningham; Gt.Grandchildren-(4) Hunter Capulong; Heston Capulong; Harrison Capulong; Kennedy Huggard and a Good Friend-Scott Garman and his wife, Joyce, of Wellsville, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his: Wife-Betty June Cunningham; Parents-Ora and Ida Cunningham; Sister-Myrtle Gallick and a Brother-Roy Cunningham SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. IN STATE: Mr. Cunningham will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Franklin County, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Homewood Community Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
