Ethel Lorene Weaver

Ethel Lorene Ohlmeier Weaver Ethel Lorene Olmeier Weaver, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025. Oldest child of Elmer Ohlmeier and Edith Sinclair Ohlmeier. Born December 19, 1941, on her mother’s 26th birthday in a rural Paola farm house. Baptized as an infant into membership at Trinity Lutheran Church, Block. When she was 4 years old, her family transferred to First Lutheran, Paola, where she remained an active member. She taught Sunday School: preschool-1st grade, 6th grade Confirmation Class and was a substitute leader in the Adult Bible Study. She held offices in various church organizations including The Married Couples Club, First Lutheran PTL, AAL and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was active in the Braille Ministry, going to Overland Park to help make Braille Bibles. She attended grade school at First Lutheran School, graduated from Paola High School in 1960 and took classes at Fort Scott Community College. Her career included Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line, Department manager at Pamida Gibson, Miami County Treasurer’s Office and Miami County Title. On December 15, 1961, she married George Weaver of Osawatomie at First Lutheran, Paola. They became the parents of four children all of whom survive. Those proceeding her are her parents, and a brother, Jim Ohlmeier. Survivors are her husband of 63 years and their four children: Doug (Cindy) Weaver, Paola; Linda (James) Heimann, Fredericksburg, TX; Dan Weaver, Paola; and Billy (Michele) Weaver, Paola. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Bethany (Jeff) Neumann and Amy Heimann and two grandsons, D.J. Weaver and Austin Weaver, greatgranddaughters, Zola Weaver and Raelynn Weaver, step-granddaughter Mindy (Justin) Lentz and three step-great-grandchildren, Harper, Jett and Zach. Also surviving are sister Ruth (John) Cook, and two brothers, John (Kathy) Ohlmeier and David (Fran) Ohlmeier. In lieu of Flowers: Memorials to First Lutheran Church Funeral Services are pending
