Ethel Thies

Ethel M.Thies age 70, of Bucyrus, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Ethel was born June 25, 1942, the daughter of Cecil and Gertrude (Pfannes) Worthington. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Thies on October 13, 1962 at Wea, KS. Ethel was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Holy Rosary Catholic church, Bucyrus, KS. In previous years she was an officer of the Alter Society, the church choir and held an hour each week in the Adoration Chapel. Ethel was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching sports and cheering on KU. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; three daughters, Donna Wilcox and Julie Wallace, Louisburg, KS; Karen Ratterree, Belton, MO; one son, Leon Thies, Bucyrus, KS; brother, Don Worthington, Bucyrus, KS; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
