Esther Justine Mcghay

Esther J.'Gus' McGhay, 97 ,of Ottawa, Kansas died on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of George Rempel(deceased) and Bertha (Janzen) Rempel(deceased). She was born on Monday, January 13, 1908, in Marion County, Kansas. Esther grew up on a farm in Marion County, Kansas, and moved to Hutchinson, Kansas in 1937; Beloit, Kansas in 1946; Grove, Oklahoma in 1965; and Ottawa in 1981. Esther graduated from Marion County, Kansas High School in 1927. She was a homemaker and kitchen aide at the Grove, Oklahoma Hospital. Esther attended Methodist Churches and was a member of the Homewood (Kansas) Friendly Club. On October 17, 1927, Esther was united in marriage with Delbert A. McGhay at Marion County, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1968. Survivors include: Son-Gerald D. McGhay Brother-in-law-Stanley Macklin of Topeka, Kan. Granddaughter-Heather Geiedry Granddaughter-Kathleen Harper Gt. Grandchildren-Several Niece-Sandra Macklin of Topeka, Kan. Great niece-Teresa Shubert of Derby, Kan. (Janzen) Rempel Sister-Edna Macklin Brother-Walter Rempel SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in rural Williamsburg at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005.
