Ernestine Bertha Ledom

Ernestine Bertha Ledom, 87, of Ottawa, passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at her home.

Rosary and vigil service will be held, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas.

Family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M., at the mortuary prior to services.

Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa.

Ernestine was born July 9, 1936, in Greeley, Kansas, the daughter of Hubert Anthony and Anna Mae (Burns) Peine.

She lived in Ottawa since 1957, also living in Greeley for 3 years and Richmond for 14 years.

Ernestine attended grade school and high school in Richmond.

She was united in marriage to Howard R. Ledom January 25, 1964, in Ottawa. He survives of the home.

Ernestine was a lifelong homemaker and loved the time she spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, traveling and dancing with Howard.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society and Women’s Auxiliary, VFW Memorial Post 5901 of Ottawa.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Irene Bellefueille, Dolores Bowley, brother, Nicholas Peine and granddaughter, Tarissa A. Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Howard, children, Cynthia L. Wilson (Larry) of Paola, David R. Brown (Rhonda), Scott A. Brown and Tony R. Ledom (Kimberly) all of Ottawa, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and special friend, Shirley Coffman, of Ottawa.
