Erma Witt

Erma Lorene Witt, 84, of Paola, Kansas died February 24, 2016 at Pinnacle Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Olathe, Kansas. Erma was born August 17, 1931 to John and Katherine Presley. She attended Paola schools and graduated from Paola High School. She met Clifford Witt and they married in 1949. They made their home in DeSoto, Kansas, then moved to the Paola area in 1953. Erma was a homemaker and worked on their farm all of her life. She loved to knit and crochet and could do any kind of needlework. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Her family always came first and she loved to visit with her friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her stepfather, a son and a grandson. She is survived by a son, Ronald Witt (Susan) of Paola; a daughter, Susan Fort (Rick) of Leavenworth; grandchildren Shelly Sublette (James) of Roanoke, TX, Jennifer Bollinger (Brian) of Paola, Tyler Witt (Ashley) of Ada, OK, Hayden and Kara Fort of Leavenworth; a twin sister, Erna Storch of Spring Hill; a brother Larry Jacobs of Paola, and 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer"s Association. Visitation is 1:00 " 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS. Service follows at 2:00 p.m. Burial is in Bucyrus Cemetery.
