Erma June Kinsley was born June 19, 1928, in Douglas County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Floyd and Lottie (Gish) Barton. She grew up in Douglas County, then moved to the Centropolis Community, where she made her home for the past forty years, until her death Sunday, April 7, 2002, at the age of seventy-three years. She was a lifelong homemaker. June was baptized in 1942 into the Eight Mile Old German Baptist Brethren Church. On February 18, 1945, June was united in marriage with Raymond Kinsley at Pomona, Kansas. Raymond and June were called to the office of the ministry in February of 1964, in which she helped her husband faithfully as long as health permitted. Raymond and June called for and received the anointing service Sunday afternoon following the lovefeast October 14, 2001, which gave them much comfort. June enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. She also enjoyed all her homemaking skills of cooking, sewing, caring for their gardens, etc. Surviving are her husband, Raymond, of the home; three daughters, Karen Beery of Rossville, Indiana, Janice Edgecomb and her husband, Glen, of Ottawa, Kathi Denlinger and her husband, Ron, of Ottawa; son, Dean Kinsley and his wife, Nina, of New Carlisle, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Merlin Barton and his wife, Eva, of Pomona; four sisters, Doris Hopkins and her husband, Arthur, of Pomona, Oella Edgecomb and her husband, Paul, of North Manchester, Indiana, Fern Brooks and her husband, Owen, of Ottawa, Nina Flora and her husband, Chet, of Rossville, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Harriet Oyler of Pendleton, Indiana, Ruth Olive Barton of Pomona; and, two brothers-in-law, Virgil Frantz of North Manchester, Indiana, and Harold Riffey of Pendleton, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Raymond Lee Kinsley, Jr.; two sisters, Nellie Frantz, Martha Riffey; two brothers, Chester Barton, Melvin Barton; and, son-in-law, Ronald Beery. We trust that our loss is her eternal gain. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Eight Mile Old German Baptist Brethren Church, west of Centropolis, 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002 OFFICIATING MINISTER: Elder Weldon Hirt. IN STATE: Mrs. Kinsley will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 5:30 to 7:00 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
