Ena Mae Mock was born on Monday, August 9, 1926, in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Harrison and Ethel (Heckman) Spaulding. In the early 1940’s, she moved to Ottawa, Kansas, and the early 1980’s, to Lawrence, Kansas, where she made her home until her death on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the age of eighty-two years. She was a homemaker who took pride in her homemaking skills. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting to create beautiful items for her family and friends to cherish through the years. She also enjoyed caring for her garden, camping, and she had a great love for dogs. She formerly attended Church of the Nazarene of Ottawa. On Sunday, November 25, 1945, Ena Mae was united in marriage with Lyle Francis Mock in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1979. She is also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Alvin Spaulding, Jim Spaulding, Dee Spaulding, Gene Spaulding, Bill Spaulding, Jody Spaulding; and sister, Jeraldene R. Wall. Mrs. Mock is survived by her son, Dale Mock and his wife, Sandy, of Lawrence, Kansas; sister, Dorothy Meisel of Warsaw, Missouri; two granddaughters, Michelle McDaniel and her husband, Dr. James McDaniel, of Topeka, Kansas, Shannon Mock of Lawrence, Kansas; and great-granddaughter, Abby McDaniel of Topeka, Kansas. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Mock at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Wednesday evening.
