Emil Verne Collins

January 21, 1916 — October 27, 2005

Emil was raised in Illinois and moved to Ottawa, Kansas in 1943. He moved with his wife to Roanoke, North Carolina in 2003. He graduated from Illinois High School with the class of 1934. He was employed as a fabricator by Commodore Mobile homes of Ottawa for twenty-five years, retiring in 1988. In 1944, Mr. Collins enlisted in the United States Army. He obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was assigned with the 380th Engineering Battalion in the Pacific Theater, during WWII. Emil was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 of Ottawa, Kansas. In June of 1940, Emil was united in marriage with Maxine Hazen at Illinois. She survives of their home. SERVICES: Family and friends will meet at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa for Graveside services at 10:00 a.m.on Tuesday, November 1, 2005.
