Eloy A. Lucero, Sr, age 75, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. He was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1936, in Villanueva, New Mexico. He was the son of Vivian and Theresha (Aragon) Lucero. He was a resident of Ottawa since 1984, moving from Grants, New Mexico, where he resided for many years. For many years, in the 1970’s and 1980’s, Eloy was employed as a driller for Shelton Drilling Co. in Casa Grande, Arizona. In the late 1980’s, he did weatherization for Eckan, Inc., and, in the early 1990’s, worked in maintenance for Havens Steel, both in Ottawa. On February 26, 1954, Eloy was united in marriage with Reyna Zamora in Grants, New Mexico. They were later divorced. On June 22, 1979, Eloy was united in marriage with Ruby (Ergle) Brown in Ely, Nevada. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife-Ruby Lucero of the home Son-Eloy Lucero, Jr. of Grants, New Mexico Son- Robert Lucero of Maricopa, Arizona Son-Fred Lucero of Phoenix, Arizona Son-Randy Brown and his wife, Joan, of Decaturville, Tennessee Daughter-Barbra Archunde and her husband, Denny, of Grants, New Mexico Daughter-Dyanna Napier of Richmond, Kansas Daughter-Beverly Davis and her husband, Charles, of Ottawa, Kansas Daughter-Sherri Yarbro and her husband, Danny, of Ottawa, Kansas Daughter-Natasha Smith of the home Daughter-Shawne Howell of Crowder, Missouri Sister- Frances Maestas and her husband, David, of Cortez, Colorado Sister-Katy Aragon and her companion Steve Barillo, of Albuquerque, New Mexico Sister-Mary Medina of Albuquerque, New Mexico Grandchildren-Twenty-three Gt. Grandchildren-Twenty-six He is preceded in death by his: Parents-Vivian and Theresha Lucero Sister-Cindy Madrid Brother-Tony Lucero Grandson-Denny Archunde, Jr. SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012. IN STATE: Mr. Lucero will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 10:00 a.m. Friday to the service hour, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 Friday evening, followed by a family visitation from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
