October 5, 1918 — June 21, 2016

Eloise A. Killough, 97, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Family will meet with friends at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Grace Episcopal Church, 315 W. 5th, Ottawa. Memorial services will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M., at the church. Eloise was born and raised in Ironwood, Michigan, to Roy and Vera Bowen. After graduating from the University of Minnesota she moved to Los Angeles to work during WWII. There she met Ensign Robert Killough of Ottawa, Kansas, whom she married in Ironwood, Michigan, in 1946. Following the war they moved to Ohio for 2 years then settled in Ottawa, Kansas, where they raised their four children and built their construction business. Eloise was an avid reader, expert Bridge player and spent many years volunteering at the Grace Episcopal Thrift Shop and the Ottawa Library. She enjoyed fond memories of traveling with Bob especially to Sedona, Arizona, golfing and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook on life. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Grace Fredrickson. She is survived by her four children, Scott Killough and wife Susie of Lawrence, Sarah Stoddard and husband Bill of Dallas, Texas, Bo Killough of Baldwin City, and John Killough and wife Dee of Ottawa; older brother, Edward Bowen of Los Angeles, California; six grandchildren, Katie Kelly and husband Dylan of San Diego, California, Betsy Pepe and husband Nick of New York, New York, Kate Stoddard of San Francisco, California, Jed Killough and wife Emily of Leawood, Anne Guthrie and husband James of Nashville, Tennessee, and Brian Killough of Prairie Village; and five great grandchildren, Wyatt and Clara Kelly, Brier Pepe, Max and Jane Killough. The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Episcopal Church, Ottawa or Midland Hospice Care, Ottawa c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
