Ellen Seamands

Ellen G. Seamands, age 90, of Spring Hill, Kansas passed away at the Golden Living Center on August 7, 2012. Ellen was born April 14, 1922 to Lester and Edith Vroman Herndon in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. She moved to Idaho in 1937 and later moved to Kansas when she was in her 20s. She was a homemaker and also worked for the State of Kansas traveling around to homes as a housekeeper and caregiver for 10 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Olathe, Kansas. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, son Jay Seamands, daughter Lola Myers, and brother Alvin Herndon. She is survived by her daughters Reta Jo James of Willmar, MN, and Gwen Hoover of Olathe, KS; daughter-in-law Tammy Seamands of Paola, KS; sisters Lavina Williams of Idaho Falls, ID, Mildred Fletcher of Shelby, ID, and Carol Mitchell of Ammon, ID; brothers Harold, Marvin, and Darrell Herndon all of Idaho Falls, ID and Doyle Herndon of Salt Lake City, UT; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 200 E Loula, Olathe, Kansas.
