Ella A. White ("Ellie"), age 104, of Louisburg, KS, died Monday, March 9, 2009. She was born in Windsor, MO, on May 5, 1904, to Zora (Bennett) and Norvel Fridley. Ellie was united in marriage to V.E. "Jack" White on May 7, 1927, in Windsor, MO. Ellie moved to Louisburg in 1932. Along with being a homemaker, she was a charter member of the Sisters of the Skillet Club (SOS) and was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. For many years, she opened her home to visitors by selling her needlework and arts and crafts in the locally known "Ella"s Calico Closet". Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her only child, Gerald E. White; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Reynolds) and her sister Doris Craig. Survivors include her brother Roy Fridley of Windsor, MO; four grandchildren " Sharon of Slidell, LA; Ron of Spring, TX; Ward of Tulsa, OK; and Scott of Wichita, KS; and five great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation from 1:00 " 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Penwell - Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Interment will be at Louisburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louisburg Library, P.O. Box 398, Louisburg, KS 66053.
