Ella A. Keller-Booker, 87, of Shell Knob, Missouri, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 18, 2018, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Mrs. Booker will lie in state from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Ella was born June 3, 1931, in Falls City, Nebraska, the daughter of Nels and Agathe (Nelson) Kjeldsen. She was raised and attended schools at Falls City. Ella was united in marriage to Loren Keller May 19, 1948, and later divorced in 1966. She worked for Montgomery Wards in the sales/catalog department and for Hinky Dinky Grocery Store as a checker. Ella was past president of the South School P.T.A. in Falls City. Her husband was transferred to Ottawa, Kansas in 1960. She lived in Ottawa from 1960 to 1985 moving to Shell Knob, Missouri, where she resided before returning to Pomona where she passed surrounded by family. Ella married Albert E. Booker November 21, 1985, in Miami, Oklahoma. She was employed with Montgomery Wards in sales and later for A & P Grocery as a checker for 20 years. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Knob, and member of the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union 782 in Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Booker on January 17, 1997; daughter, Karen Keller; sisters, Neta Kjeldsen and Kathrine Findley; and son-in-law, Harvey Kjeldsen. Survivors include her three daughters, Linda Horne and husband Doug of Pomona, Patty Winters and husband Tim of Ottawa, and Teresa Brown and husband Joe also of Ottawa; brother, Nels Kjeldsen and wife Mary Jo of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Jeri, Jody, Jennifer, Brian, Jason, Jamie, Mindy, Angela, Joshua, and Jill; sixteen great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ella loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, going to the casinos, and playing Solitaire and Dominoes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
