Elizabeth Mary Denkinger, age 90, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. She was born on Wednesday, September 22, 1920, in Mellen, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Mary (Schram) Tafelski. Elizabeth grew up in Mellen, Wisconsin. She also lived in Milwaukee until moving to Topeka, Kansas in 1983, and Ottawa in 1999. She worked outside the home at various jobs; primarily, Master Lock Corporation in Milwaukee twenty-six years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of UAW (International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace & Agricultural Implement Workers of America) Region 5 Union. On September 21, 1937, Elizabeth was united in marriage with George Schroeder in Mellen, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death in 1962. On October 14, 1972, she married Jake Denkinger. He preceded her in death in 1982. She is survived by her: Son-David R. Schroeder and his wife, Gloria, of Ottawa, Kansas; Daughter-Delores Rogers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Sister-Patricia Walters of Mellen, Wisconsin; Sister-Terry Kurpiewski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Sister-Rose Woodson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Thirteen Grandchildren; Forty -Great Grandchildren; Many - Great Great Grandchildren and Many Nieces & Nephews. She is preceded in death by her: Husband-George Schroeder; Husband-Jake Denkinger; Parents-John and Mary Tafelski; Brother-John Tafelski; Brother-Allen Tafelski; Brother-Ted Tafelski; Brother-Lawrence Tafelski; Four-Grandchildren and Two-Great Grandchildren. SERVICES: Memorial Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010. IN STATE: Cremation is planned. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Faith Lutheran Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
