Elenor L. Ball, 96, of Rantoul, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 16, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the mortuary. Interment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul. Elenor was born July 20, 1921, in Harrison Township, Franklin County, the daughter of Harley and Vena Louise (Tucker) Blackstone. She was a near lifelong Rantoul resident. Elenor was united in marriage to Gerald E. Ball May 23, 1936, in Emporia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Vena Blackstone; son, Roger Ball; and brother, Leo Blackstone. Survivors include her four children, Merritt Ball and wife Sonja of Ottawa, Shirley Arnold and husband Jim of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Patty Landess and husband Richard of Rantoul, and Peggy Johnson also of Rantoul; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Elenor was a devoted homemaker and co-owner and operator of Ball Grocery in Rantoul, from 1960 to the late 1970s. She was a member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and listening to music. The family suggests memorial contributions to Ruhamah Cemetery c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
