Eleanor L. Harrell, 86, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Ottawa. Eleanor was born July 29, 1933, in Peoria, Kansas, the last surviving sibling of 7 children born to Zach and Nora “Maude” (Ferris) Evans. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident living in rural Ottawa for 40 years. She graduated from Wellsville High School with the class of 1951. On July 13, 1957 Eleanor was united in marriage to Jerry Harrell in Ottawa. They shared 62 years of marriage and made countless happy memories. Survivors include two sons, Tim Harrell and wife Kathy and Brett Harrell and wife Jodi all of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Darren Corcoran, Aaron Harrell and wife Brittney, Trenton Corcoran, Mallory Harrell, Kameron Harrell, Kelvin Harrell, Kirklan Harrell, and Kianna Harrell all of Ottawa; and three great grandchildren, Ellie Hamilton, Nolan Harrell and Nora Harrell. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her brothers and sisters. Eleanor was a telephone operator for 27 years employed by Southwestern Bell and later AT&T, retiring in the early 1990s. She was a member of the North Baptist Church. Eleanor loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed flying with Jerry in their plane particularly at night. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing and shopping, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
