Eleanor G. Hubbard

Eleanor "Ellie" G. DeBey Hubbard, 79, of Louisburg, KS, formerly of Hays and Stockton, KS, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Saint Luke"s Hospital of Kansas City. Ellie was born on April 4, 1932, on the family farm southwest of Kirwin, KS in Phillips County to Thomas & Lola (Lowry) DeBey. She graduated from Kirwin High School in 1950 was a 1953 graduate of the Asbury School of Nursing, Salina, KS and continued her nursing education at the University of Kansas and Fort Hays State University, respectively. She was a retired registered nurse. Ellie is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Edward & Tony DeBey. She is survived by her son, Daniel Hubbard of Louisburg; her "second son" Ronald Smith of Louisburg; her sister Bettie Bobbitt of Stockton; her sister-in-law Marilee DeBey of Phillipsburg; her sister-in-law Margaret DeBey of Olathe and many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well her two cats, Ebony and Gracie. Per her wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service but family and friends will gather at a later date for a reception to celebrate her life.
