Elaine Marez

Elaine Marez, age 57, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, July 19, 2010. She was born on Monday, April 27, 1953, in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond Eugene and Irene (Kueser) Wittman. She grew up in Garnett, moving to Ottawa in the early 1970’s. Elaine graduated from Garnett High School with the class of 1971. She then attended beauty school in Topeka. For over thirty-seven years she was employed by Honeywell, formerly Bendix King Radio, of Olathe, retiring in 2010, due to health reasons. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa. On September 24, 1977, Elaine was united in marriage with Johnny Adame Marez in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1998. She is survived by her: Parents-Raymond and Irene (Kueser) Wittman of Garnett, Kansas; Son-Philip Marez and his wife, Dana, of Ottawa, Kansas; Son-Vincent Marez of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister-Karen Valentine and her husband, Clark, of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister-Alice Wittman and her companion, Dave Gillaspie, of Ottawa, Kansas; Brother-Gary Wittman and his wife, Connie, of California; Brother-Jeff Wittman and his wife, Trish, of Garnett, Kansas; Brother-Alan Wittman and his wife, Lana, of Garnett, Kansas; Brother-Rod Wittman and his wife, Kim, of Garnett, Kansas; Grandchild-Olivia Marez; Grandchild-Anthony Marez; Grandchild-Eryana Marez; Grandchild-Combiano Marez; SERVICES: Memorial Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010. IN STATE: Cremation is planned. INURNMENT: Hope Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
