Eileen Mary Zuzzio

Eileen grew up in Parsons, Kansas. Following her marriage, she lived with her husband in Coffeyville, Edna, Chetopa, and Humboldt, Kansas, moving to Baldwin City, Kansas, in 1990. Eileen attended St. Patrick`s Catholic School, East Junior High School, and graduated from Parsons High School with the class of 1933. She then attended Parsons Business College for two years. From 1935 to 1945, Eileen worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Parsons, Kansas, as a switchboard operator. She was a caring and loving wife to her husband, Tony, and a wonderful mother to their children and grandchildren. Mrs. Zuzzio was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and also a member of the Altar Society in Baldwin City, Kansas. In addition, she was a member of several bridge clubs, garden club, and a huge sports fan. On March 4, 1946, Eileen was united in marriage with Anthony J. Zuzzio at Parsons, Kansas. After 56 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 7, 2002. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Baldwin City, Kansas. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Fr. Bill Fisher. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Zuzzio at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 Friday evening, followed by a family visitation from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. CEMETERY: Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Parsons, Kansas, 3:00 p.m. Saturday, with Fr. Robert Wachter officiating. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Knights of Columbus Building Fund of the Annunciation Catholic Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
