Edwena "Eddie" Guist

Edwena Guist, age 92, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. She was born on Wednesday, March 28, 1917, in Emporia, Kansas. She was the daughter of Leo and Sarah Jane (Jones) Kuhlmann. RESIDENCE HISTORY: She grew up in Emporia, moving to Ottawa in 1944. EDUCATION: Edwena graduated from Emporia High School with the class of 1936. She attended Kansas State Teacher’s College which is now Emporia State University. OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: She was a lifelong homemaker. MARRIAGE: On October 25, 1942, Edwena was united in marriage with Earl A. Guist in Emporia. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1973. SERVICES: Graveside Services will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009. IN STATE: Family and friends will meet at Dengel & Son Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and process to Highland Cemetery. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
