Edward "Ed" Joe Kendall

Edward “Ed” Joe Kendall, 64, of Topeka, Kansas, died at his residence on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

Cremation is planned with a graveside service to be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Ed was born March 5, 1958, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, the son of John Wilson Kendall, Jr. and Hazel Odessa (Booth) Kendall.

He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1976 and continued his education at Washburn University, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science.

Ed was united in marriage to Diane Gilstrap in 1983. Several years later they divorced. They had one child, Kathryn “Katy” Kendall.

Ed served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant. He served both state side and in the Pacific Corridor. After his Navy service, he worked for the Topeka Parks service. He later spent several years working at Goodyear Tire Company. Due to injury, he retired on disability.

Survivors include his daughter, granddaughter, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Names and addresses withheld at the request of the survivors.
