Edna Irene Kaub

Edna Irene Kaub, 98, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away, Friday, January 6, 2023, at Vintage Park, Ottawa.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Centropolis, Kansas.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Edna was born on July 21, 1924, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Lee S. and Jessie Verne (Gibson) Rundell. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident.

She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1945

Edna was united in marriage to Frank C. Kaub August 2, 1950, at Garnett, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1996.

She was a dedicated wife and mother. Edna spent most of her life as a homemaker, but also worked as an office assistant for Bennett’s Creamery.

Edna was a member of the North Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, son, Gordon Kaub, daughter, Janet Kaub, brothers, Robert L. Rundell and Lawrence “Don” Rundell and sister, Evelyn Geiss.

Edna was known to her family and friends as a hardworking homemaker. With eight children to care for she was always very busy cooking and keeping house, but still had quality time to spend with her children. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing and drawing sketches of people. Edna also enjoyed listening to music and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include children, David Kaub (Kathy), John Kaub (Penny), Dan Kaub (Trisha), Cheryl Steinman (John), Jeanette Ingold (Ted) all of Ottawa and Karen Ross (Allen) of Pomona; sixteen grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
