Edith Louise Aubry

Edith Louise (Schulz) Aubry passed away on October 23, 2022. She was born to Carl and Ethel Schulz on August 14, 1932, in Rantoul, Kansas. She grew up and graduated from Rantoul High School. She met and married Claud Aubry on December 18, 1953, in Ottawa, Kansas. They had a daughter, Vickie Lyn and a son Claud Steven, both born in Ottawa. The family moved to Lawrence in 1959 due to Claud’s job.

Edith was a homemaker, a gardener, a quilt maker and raised poodles for a little while. She and Claud helped with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program in Lawrence for several years. She was a fabulous mom, grandma and towards the end of her life, a great grandma to 2 great grandsons.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, and husband Claud.

Survivors are her daughter Vickie Robertson (Alan) of Lawrence; son Claud Steven (Pam) of Longmont, Colorado; brother Jerry Schulz of Gainesville, Texas; 4 granddaughters, Amanda Yother (Tom) of Lawrence, Kendra Aubry, Dr. Rachel Aubry (Anthony Bozza), and Devon Aubry all of Longmont, Colorado; 2 great grandsons, Christian and William Faulker of Lawrence; and many, many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Edith’s Life will be held at First United Methodist Church at 10th and Vermont in Lawrence in Brady Hall on Saturday, November 12th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a private inurnment earlier that day.

At Edith’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Lawrence, Brandon Woods at Alvamar, Retirement Village of Lawrence, or St. Croix Hospice.
