Earlene Kay Gilbert, age 60, of Pomona, Kan., died Thursday, January 1, 2004, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kan. She grew up in the Kansas City area Earlene graduated from Basehor High School with the class of 1961. Earlene was a lifelong homemaker and housewife. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, The Sewing Circle, and the United Methodist Women all of Quenemo. She was also a past president of the United Methodist Women. On May 12, 1962, Earlene was united in marriage with William Gilbert in Oklahoma. He survives of their home. She is also survived by: Two Daughters, Daughter-Katherine (Gilbert) Falk of Kansas City, Kan. Daughter-Deborah (Gilbert) Hill of Pomona, Kan. Two Sons, Son-William Gilbert of Pomona, Kan. Son-James Gilbert of Pomona, Kan. One Sister, Sister-Terry Gilley of Beuna Vista, Colo. One Brother, Brother-Donald Tate of Lexington, Mo. SERVICES: Private family services will be held. IN STATE: Mrs. Gilbert will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5 p.m. Saturday. The family will meet with friends 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2003 at the mortuary.
