Earlene H. Chronister, 78, of Independence, Missouri, passed away April 10, 2010 at Season"s Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Earlene was born April 27, 1931 in Rolla, MO to Charles Earl and Lela (Loury) Heflin. She graduated from Rolla High School in 1949 and the International Bible School in San Antonio, TX in 1955. Earlene was united in marriage to Terry L. Chronister on May 15, 1988. Mrs. Chronister worked as a telephone operator for United Telephone Company and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Kansas City, MO. She was also a receptionist for Sherwin Williams Paint Company in Kansas City. Earlene was an ordained minister through the Evangelistic Center Church in Kansas City, MO. She was a member of the Pittman Road Church of God in Kansas City, MO. Earlene always enjoyed singing, especially hymns; playing the organ; and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bob and Eric Heflin. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Terry L. Chronister; sisters, Shirley Jennings and husband Joe, and Phyllis June Brewer, all of Independence, MO. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Pittman Road Church of God, 4700 Pittman Road, Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon at the Paola Cemetery, Paola, KS.
