Dwight grew up and lived in Ottawa until moving to California at the age of twenty. He lived in Sacramento for many years and Santa Cruz ten years, returning to Ottawa in 1997. Dwight attended Appanoose schools in Franklin County. He worked twenty-eight years as an inspector for the United States Government Defense Department, retiring in 1981. Dwight served with the 225th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II from March 3, 1941, until September 27, 1945, in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Technician Fifth Grade. He served in the Eastern Mandates, Southern Philippines, Western Pacific and Ryukyus Campaigns, and received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, and the American Defense Service Medal. On May 23, 1942, Dwight was united in marriage with Marie A. Carlton in Tacoma, Washington. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1996. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Moody at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 P.M. Tuesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 6 to 7:00 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin County. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
