Duane Lee Morgan

Duane L. Morgan, 77, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 8, 2015, at Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, Kansas. It will be followed by a family and friends dinner at the Methodist Church Fellowship Center on Main Street in Virgil, Kansas. Duane was born Wednesday, June 16, 1937, in Tonganoxie, Kansas, the son of Lee and Edna (Ditty) Morgan. He graduated from grade school in Tonganoxie and attended Tonganoxie High School before pursuing work as a construction worker in Eureka County, Yates Center, Altoona, and various other places. Duane was united in marriage with Erma Myers December 14, 1964 in Edwardsville, Kansas. They were married 27 years prior to their divorce. One daughter was born of this union, Cindy Hontz, who survives of Gardner, Kansas. Other survivors include his sister, Rita Lovell and husband Harvey; maternal aunt, Bev Ditty; and numerous cousins. He was known as a loving and caring person who was friendly to everyone and loved dogs, cats, and horses. The family suggests memorial contributions to donors choice c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
