Drew McLaren Casper, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on November 15th, 2023.
Drew is survived by his Mother, Eileen Casper and Jeny Kyte, Sister Erin and her husband Ryan Self, and his nephews William and Connor.
Drew was born on June 11th 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri at St Joseph’s Hospital. The beloved son of Roger Louis Casper Jr. & Eileen Casper, then of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Drew grew up in Lee's Summit where he resided until later moving to Florida to be closer to his mother. From a young age Drew loved being outdoors, so much so that sporting a farmer’s tan was his year-round look! Boating, fishing and riding his bike all over the neighborhood were a few of the activities you could generally find Drew doing on any given evening, especially in the summertime. Drew shared many childhood memories with his sister catching “lightening bugs”, camping in the backyard, and running through sprinklers on the golf course behind their home.
From a young age Drew discovered his true passion and gift playing baseball. At 9 years old Drew began playing competitively. The Mac N’ Seitz Red Socks, and the Lee’s Summit Panthers were a few of the undefeated teams Drew was able to enjoy playing for early on in his baseball career. Baseball became a staple in Drew’s life and awarded him with many once in a lifetime opportunities, such as playing at Kaufman Stadium. Drew continued to play baseball during high school for the Blue Springs South Jaguars and eventually earned a scholarship to play at Jefferson State College, just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.
In 2018, Drew moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to enjoy the sun, sand and soak up the relaxing lifestyle of the sunshine state. Drew had many jobs during his time in Florida including working with animals and selling modified designer golf carts. One job Drew was most proud of was working at Massey Lawn and Irrigation Company. After a few years with the company in 2022 Drew was recognized as the Employee of the Year with an award for outstanding service in the Southern Region. His large glass plaque was something he always had displayed! He covered many, many miles to service a multitude of lawns, from West Palm to Homestead near the Keys. Later on in 2022 having had enough of the strenuous and demanding geographical service area, Drew went on to work for Amazon as a delivery driver. During his short time there he received an award for the most deliveries in one day for the region.
During Drew’s free time he loved to play golf with his mom, and partner Jeny, and going to the dog beach often, with their dog Derby. During the many visits to the beach Drew and his mom shared fond memories of collecting unique shells together. These are now cherished mementoes of these sweet days spent scouring the sand side by side. Drew also enjoyed sharing his love for Florida with his nephews by showing them the native wildlife each time they came to visit. Snorkeling with friends and his old favorite-fishing, were also a few activities Drew enjoyed under the warm Florida sun when not working.
Drew will always be remembered for his ability to light up a room with his big smile, charismatic laugh and knack for impersonating any commercialized voice, a unique talent many will never forget. His sweet presence and warm hugs will never be forgotten. This sweet soul, “Drewster”, gone from us too soon. Rest in Peace Drew.
