Doyle G. Wasson

Doyle G. Wasson, 60, of Baldwin City, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Saturday following the service. Inurnment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 10, 2019, at Union Cemetery, north of Centropolis, Kansas. Doyle was born October 26, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Warren and Arleva (Wormuth) Wasson. He was a near lifelong Baldwin City resident. He graduated from Baldwin High School with the class of 1976. Doyle was united in marriage to Kimberly Boyd May 10, 1984, in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Other survivors include children, Jerrod Wasson and wife Jessica of Baldwin City, Erica Wasson of Cimarron, and Retta Larch and Mike DiBenedetto of Kansas City, Kansas; parents, Warren and Arleva Wasson of Baldwin City; brother, Timothy Wasson and wife Jannell of Raymore, Missouri; and nephew, Brent Wasson. He worked in HVAC for 40 years, working for various companies. Doyle was employed with Kansas Memorial Union in Lawrence as a maintenance technician for the last 5 years. Doyle had many friends and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, helping on his parent’s farm, liked to tinker, loved his children, dogs and grand dogs.
