Douglas Ray Fairchild, age 41, of Anchorage, Alaska, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at his residence. He was the son of the late Doug Lawson and Dottie Bethell. He grew up in the Baldwin City and Wellsville area, residing in Franklin County until moving to Alaska in 1991, where he made his home until he died of a heart attack on Friday, July 19, 2002. He attended grade school and high school in Baldwin City, Kansas. He was presently employed as a carpenter. He was involved with construction of I-35 and Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant at Burlington. He joined the Carpenter's Union in Kansas City, Missouri, working on various construction projects in the metro area. He worked construction in Alaska from Brooks Range in the north to Bethel, and south to the Gulf Range. He was also in a country rock band,
