Douglas Keith Bailey

Douglas Bailey, 58, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside services at Wellsville Cemetery are pending and will be announced at a later date. Douglas was born, Tuesday, June 11, 1963 at Ottawa, Kansas the son of Claron W. and Pauline M. (Mignot) Bailey. He lived in Franklin County most of his life also living in Appleton, Missouri for several years. Douglas attended Wellsville High School. He was united in marriage to Wanda McKinney April 1981 at Gardner, Kansas. She survives of the home. Survivors also include his mother, Pauline Henery of Ottawa; children, David McKinney, Keith Bailey (Susie), Brandy Gress (R.T.) and Douglas Bailey, Jr., all of Appleton City, Missouri; sister, Sherry Wheeler, brother Gene Harwell both of Ottawa and nine grandchildren. Douglas was a lifelong carpenter working for Bill Vietze in Olathe, Kansas then working for Jack Fennewald in Appleton, Missouri. He later worked with the kitchen staff at Ottawa University. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Gordon Bailey. Douglas enjoyed 4-wheelers, fishing and spending time with his dog, Little Man.
