Douglas D. Farrell, Sr., 74, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends immediately following the service. Inurnment will be held later at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Miami County. Douglas was born July 4, 1945 in Ottawa, the son of Donald F. and Opal M. (Hudson) Farrell. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident attending Ottawa schools. Douglas was united in marriage to Sue Creviston May 9, 1964 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Other survivors include sons, Douglas Farrell, Jr. and wife Angela of Pomona and Donald Farrell and wife Victoria of Ottawa; three siblings, Dee Ellen Leach and husband Robert of Ottawa, David Farrell and wife Judy of Florida, and Kenneth Farrell and wife Linda of Texas; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Fleming. Douglas was an owner/operator of a mobile home carrier moving for Commodore Homes in Ottawa for several years. He later was employed by Franklin County Public Works Department as a shop foreman for 17 years, retiring in 2013. He enjoyed building hot rods, riding his Harley motorcycle and playing pranks. Douglas loved spending time with his family, his pet dogs and animals. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
