Dorothy P. White

Dorothy White, age 95, of Louisburg, KS passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Louisburg Care Center. She was born on January 27, 1918 at the Windisch homestead, southeast of Louisburg, Kansas to George and Della Windisch. She attended school at Bellview School and then 4 years at Louisburg High, then graduating in 1937. She married Karl White on May 27, 1940 at Harrisonville, Missouri. To this union two children, Keith Eugene and Rita Louise were born. She worked at Pratt Whitney Aircraft Factory as an inspector during the war. Dorothy joined the Louisburg United Methodist Church in 1945 and was a faithful worker and held several offices in the United Methodist Women's group, and was a member of the Willing Workers Class. She also belonged to the E.H.U. (Eastside Club) for over 30 years, Home Extension Club, and Quilting Group. She was a calm, mild mannered person - accepting her burdens in life and tried to make like more enjoyable for those close to her. Family was always of first importance to her and all of them were enriched by her generosity, wisdom and support. She loved being around family and friends. Her grandsons, David and Nick were a great joy to her, as were her great grandchildren, Carter, Brayden, Briggs, Avaleann, Brielle and Brinley. Her husband Karl White preceded her in death in 1989. She was preceded in death by; four brothers, Floyd, J.D., Demar and George Windisch, and three sisters; Wilma Huebner, Jenny Frazier, and Hazel Knoche. Survivors include son Keith (Ava) White, and a daughter, Rita Louise White of Louisburg, Kansas, grandson, David (Cristy) White and children, Avaleann and Carter of Overbrook, Kansas grandson, Nick (Melissa) White and children Brayden, Briggs, Brielle and Brinley of Louisburg. Also surviving is one brother, Kenny (Mary) Windisch of Paola, Kansas, and one sister, Zelma Wicks of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, many nieces, nephews and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Louisburg United Methodist Church or to donor"s choice.
