Dorothy May Fitzgerald, 103, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at New Mark Care Center. Family will meet with friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary with funeral services to follow at 10:00 A.M. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Dorothy was born Sunday, April 20, 1913, in Le Roy, Kansas, the daughter of Charles D. and Maude (Nichols) Scoville. She attended Pomona High School. She lived in Richmond, Kansas twelve years prior to moving in 1944 to Ottawa. Dorothy enjoyed working outside the home. She was an Avon lady and a clerk at Montgomery Wards. Dorothy retired from the medical records department at Ransom Memorial Hospital, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ottawa since 1946. Dorothy was united in marriage with Glen Raymond Fitzgerald April 26, 1931, at Osawatomie, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maude Scoville; three brothers, Paul, Don, and Kenneth Scoville; four sisters, Roberta Winders, Frances Scoville, Bondelle Ewer and Juanita Keller; great granddaughter, Madison Smith; and son-in-law, Tom Cargile. Survivors include her two daughters, Carolee Cargile of Kearney, Missouri and Raylene Quaney and husband John of Burlingame, Kansas; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
