Dorothy M. Didde

Dorothy M. Didde, 96, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Wellsville Retirement Community. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends prior to Mass at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa. Dorothy was born September 19, 1924, at Olpe, Kansas, the daughter of George L. Diebolt and Mary J. (Wendling) Diebolt. She graduated from Olpe High School with the class of 1941. After graduation, Dorothy moved to Emporia, Kansas, working for the Santa Fe Railroad. She moved to Ottawa in 1950. Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard Didde November 27, 1947, at Emporia. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1968. She was co-owner/operator of Didde Office Supply from 1968 to 2000. Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was a former member and president of P.T.O. at Sacred Heart School. She liked to travel, play Bridge, and bowl. Dorothy loved her family and grandchildren and the time they spent together. She was also preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, George Diebolt, Jerome Diebolt, Helen Briggs, and infant twins, Mary and Joseph Diebolt. Survivors include five children, Gerald Didde (Donna) of Ottawa, Kansas, Mary Esteban (Ernest) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Anita Nolan (Michael) of DeSoto, Kansas, Barbara Roberson of Atchison, Kansas, and Michael Didde (Debra) of Paola, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
