Dorothy Helen Stevenson

Dorothy Helen Stevenson, 85, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Ottawa Retirement Village. Cremation is planned. Private family services to be held at a later date. Helen was born on Sunday, July 8, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Dennis and Dorothy (Russell) Brand. Helen's siblings are Gene, Lucille, Mary Lou, and Ruby. She has been a resident of Ottawa since 1958. On November 15, 1958 Helen was united in marriage with Garry Lee Stevenson in Osawatomie, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2012. Survivors include two sons, David Stevenson and wife Christine of Olathe, Kansas and Bob Stevenson and wife Lisa of Lawrence, Kansas; three grandchildren; several great grandchildren. She was employed with Bendix-King Radio as an assembly worker for seventeen years, retiring in 1994. She was a volunteer at the Ottawa Senior Center with Meals on Wheels. If Helen could have one wish it would be that everyone have a HAPPY DAY.
